From live-tweets to red carpet interviews: Reflecting on the RTS West of England Awards 2026

This year marked our biggest involvement yet

‍ ‍

Last week, we were proud to once again support the Royal Television Society at the RTS West of England Awards 2026.

It’s an event we’ve had the privilege of working on since 2021, and every year it continues to grow in profile, ambition and impact. What began with live-tweeting the ceremony back when Twitter was still the centre of event coverage has evolved into a far broader social media partnership focused on year-round audience engagement.

This year marked our biggest involvement yet.

Building momentum beyond awards night

The success of an awards event no longer starts when guests arrive on the red carpet. It begins weeks, even months, in advance.

Over the past year, we’ve been managing the Instagram presence for RTS West of England, helping to promote events, celebrate regional talent and build momentum towards the awards night.

‍For the 2026 ceremony, that meant creating content designed to generate excitement and keep audiences engaged, including:

  • Countdown content in the run-up to the event

  • Giveaways and audience competitions

  • Highlights and standout moments from previous ceremonies

  • Consistent promotion of nominees, categories and key updates

‍Our goal was simple: turn the awards from a one-night event into an ongoing conversation.

Bringing the red carpet to social media

On the night itself, our team was on the red carpet, capturing interviews and behind-the-scenes content for social media in collaboration with comedian Dani Johns.

‍ ‍

We had the opportunity to speak with an incredible line-up of guests, including:

  • Joseph Fiennes & Narges Rashidi – Richard & Nazanin in BBC iPlayer’s Prisoner 951

  • BosFinesse – Social media personality

  • Bruce Parry – Documentarian, author and explorer

  • Cici Coleman – First Dates Beach Club presenter

  • Jayde Adams - British comedian and actress

  • Sabet Choudhury and Alex Lovell – ITV West Country presenters

‍ ‍

Capturing these moments in real time helps extend the reach of the event far beyond the room itself, giving audiences immediate access to the energy, personality and prestige of the night.

Why it matters

Awards events are about recognition, but they are also powerful brand moments. With the right social strategy, they can build community, raise profile, attract new audiences and create content value long after the final award has been handed out.

‍ ‍

Our work with RTS West of England over the past five years is a reminder that consistent, creative communications support can help events grow year after year. From live-tweets to reels, countdowns to red carpet interviews, the platforms may change, but the value of great storytelling remains the same.
