Sharing is caring: empowering people and purpose through thoughtful marketing support

For more than 30 years Weston Hospicecare has given palliative care to people with life-limiting illnesses in Weston-super-Mare and northern Somerset completely free of charge.

Key challenges

  • The initial brief was to provide 6-weeks’ interim support to provide vital communications resource.

  • Our efforts helped this essential community organisation continue to grow despite being short-staffed.

  • From day one, we worked hand-in-hand with their fundraising and retail departments, bringing our expertise to the table and working as an extension of their team to help extend and enhance the charity’s public profile.

The work

  • Through consistent social media content creation and generating media coverage, we spotlighted the incredible work of the hospice, urging the local community to donate, volunteer, and participate in fundraising initiatives happening through the year.

The impact

  • One key milestone was the redesign of their website. From refreshing the main landing page to optimising their intranet, we improved the layout, updated formatting, and enriched the information available.

  • We designed the hospice’s annual impact report. We visualised the services available to patients and families, showcased key achievements, while also highlighting the financial challenges.

  • To ensure maximum reach, we also created a campaign plan to launch the report, spotlighting the hospice’s urgent funding needs.

  • Retail was another area where we made a significant impact. With 15 shops generating crucial income, we created in-store and online assets to boost visibility and sales. From shelf-edge displays and A2 posters to window decals and flyers for sustainability and Christmas campaigns, our work amplified the reach of their requests for support. Across their social channels and website, we drove footfall to their shops and encouraged purchases.

Testimonial

“We brought in PF to support marketing and Communications across the charity, initially just for three months but ultimately it was extended to 9 months. It’s been great to have them on side. Not only have they stepped in to cover the day to day but they have also helped us expand our reach and plan for the future.

“They took the time and trouble to immerse themselves in the organisation, which was so important to the success of the overall relationship. They were both responsive and knowledgeable and provided us with the all the expertise and resources we were lacking at the time and flexible when timescales needed to be extended at short notice.”
