Celebrating culture, connecting communities: inspiring the spirit of carnival through creative marketing support

St Pauls Carnival is a celebration of African Caribbean culture. It is an event where every float, stage, performer and person tells a story. A story of music, dance and community. 

Key challenges 

  • Communicate with all the stakeholders to promote the importance of this significant event and stimulate fundraising to ensure future sustainability

  • Ensure media enquiries are handled efficiently and with consistency of message and issues handling is robust and aligned with a multi-agency approach

The work 

  • Creating and implementing a national and regional media engagement plan to convey positive news stories and updates about Carnival.

  • Driving awareness and footfall to the main event and fringe events

The impact 

  • The creation of an effective event media hub to liaise with journalists, co-ordinate media interviews, and monitor and update social media channels with updates from the event.

  • 40+ pieces of coverage for the 2023 event, including national print, online, regional and 16 broadcast interviews.

  • Full social media management, including content creation, posting and responding to comments.
