A year of support for Weston Hospicecare
In early 2024, we began collaborating with Weston Hospicecare, stepping in to provide vital communications support while they had a gap in their resourcing within their marketing team. Our efforts helped this essential community organisation continue to grow despite being short staffed. From day one, we worked hand-in-hand with their fundraising and retail departments, bringing our expertise to the table and working as an extension of their team to help extend and enhance the charity’s public profile.
Through consistent social media content creation and supporting them to receive media coverage, we spotlighted the incredible work they do, urging the local community to donate, volunteer, and participate in fundraising initiatives happening through the year.
As we progressed our work with the hospice, we took on bigger projects. One key milestone was the redesign of their website. From refreshing the main landing page to optimising their intranet, we improved the layout, updated formatting, and enriched the information available. With online donations being a critical funding stream, a sleek, user-friendly website should make it even easier to support the vital work of the charity. Another important part of their communications is reporting on their impact. This year we designed the hospice’s report, working closely with the team, we visualised the impact of the free services available to patients and families, the key achievements, while also highlighting the financial challenges ahead. To ensure maximum reach, we also created a campaign plan to launch the report, spotlighting the hospice’s urgent funding needs.
Retail was another area where we made a significant impact. With 15 shops generating crucial income, we created in-store and online assets to boost visibility and sales. From shelf-edge displays and A2 posters to window decals and flyers for sustainability and Christmas campaigns, our work amplified the reach of their requests for support. Across their social channels and website, we drove footfall to their shops and encouraged purchases.
As we wrap up our current support with Weston Hospicecare, we’re proud to look back on a year of meaningful contributions. Beyond our contracted projects, we dedicated over 388 pro bono hours (51 days!) to their cause, reflective of our ongoing commitment. Our media efforts secured coverage that raised the hospice’s profile, ensuring their story reached more people than ever before.
